Service Info & Policies
Transparency
- We we have a minimum charge of $100 for diagnostics and some of the labor involved with determining the issue with your equipment
- We reserve the right to change our prices and policies as needed
- While the price of replacement parts can vary depending on the type, brand, demand, and availability, you can use our listed labor service prices as a baseline
- For us to give an estimated total cost we need to:
- Know the equipment information such as Brand, Serial #, and/or Model # (if any are available)
- Check the pricing of parts that may be required for repairs or service
- In some cases we may even need to have a look at the equipment in question to determine the cause of any issues
- We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason. Common reasons we might refuse service are usually due to safety such as refusing sharpening mower blades that are bent, cracked, etc... Many times we will offer other options such as replacement instead
- Electrical parts and/or opened/used fluids cannot be refunded
- All other parts are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee
- By using our services you are:
- Releasing us from any liability for any damages incurred during our services or transport of your equipment
- These can include but are not limited to seized and or rusted bolts or fasteners breaking fire, theft, or loss due to circumstances beyond our control
- Releasing us from liability for property damage, injuries, or death caused by the use of any serviced and/or repaired equipment
- Holding us harmless and indemnifying us against any claim that may arise from any serviced and/or repaired equipment
- Releasing us from any liability for any damages incurred during our services or transport of your equipment

- Cutting Edge Engines reserves the right to claim ownership of equipment left unpaid after 30 days as it will become abandoned property. We may sell related equipment or parts to regain losses from time, labor, and/or parts used
- We reserve the right to hold equipment until your balance is paid in full
- We reserve the right to refuse service if the equipment is determined to be not cost effective such as very old equipment that may be difficult to get parts at all and may be more than what the machine is worth.
Fees
- You will not be charged a storage fee while on a payment plan as long as the payments are made on time as described by the plan drawn up
- All upfront deposits or fees will be deducted from your final invoice
- Balances must be paid within 7 days of service completion. After 7 days a $20 late fee will be applied to your invoice and a fee of $10 will be applied to the final invoice each week until the final balance is paid in full as an equipment storage fee. If you are unable to make the payment, let us know so we can work a payment plan out for you.
- Bounced checks will have our bank's fee + $20 added to your bill
Turnaround Rate
- Our turnaround rate can be anywhere from the same day to 7+ days depending on several factors
- These can include but are not limited to:
- Part availability
- Transit time for parts to arrive at our location
- These can include but are not limited to:
- We will keep you up to date on any changes or delays in your service
- Most services have a very quick completion rate, in many cases the same or the next day
Payments
- Payments can be made by cash or by credit card (in person or online via an invoice)
- Checks are only accepted at our shop location for equipment that is dropped off and are subject to the terms outlined below
- Checks must be cleared by our bank before we will return equipment to your possession
- Need a payment plan? Come talk to us and see what payment plan we can set up for you. If you require service but would otherwise be unable to pay the balance in full upon completion then come talk to us so we can see how we might help you get service with a lower repayment plan. Even if you already have equipment being serviced and are having trouble, we are pretty reasonable!
Warranty
- We provide a 30-day warranty on our services.
- We cannot be held liable for manufacturer defects in parts that fail prematurely.
- Warranty does not cover issues that were not part of the service originally rendered or anything caused by misuse or neglect on your part
- Used parts do not come with any warranty. We always recommend new parts where possible and will use new parts unless requested otherwise.
- We cannot warranty re-used parts such as gaskets should you choose to not want them replaced. This is especially true for items we recommend replacing
- No warranty is given on service done with parts not supplied by Cutting Edge Engines
Donated Equipment
- We reserve the right to use any equipment donated to us for any purpose
- We do not pass off used parts as new for any reason
- We do not offer used parts as part of repair service unless the part in question cannot be found else ware
- If a used part is needed for a repair it will only be at the discretion of the our customer. We prefer and suggest using only new parts where possible but in cases of hard-to-find parts or expensive parts, some may opt for a cheaper alternative.
